Operation Xamundi: in operation by the Colombian National Army six members of the residual GAO Jaime Martínez, died in Valle del Cauca

Operación Xamundí: en ofensiva del Ejército Nacional neutraliza a seis integrantes del GAO residual ‘Jaime Martínez’, en Valle del Cauca

Troops of the Third Division neutralized the operations of this residual structure that commits crimes in this region. In addition, troops report an arrested individual, and the confiscation of rifles, war material, a drone and military accessories, elements probably used to intimidate the inhabitants.

In the framework of the military operation Xamundi, in the last 24 hours, troops of the Third Brigade of Colombian National Army, through joint, coordinated and inter-institutional military operations with the Colombian Aerospace Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, in a powerful operation, obtained the death in the framework of military operations of six members of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r Jaime Martínez, and the arrest of one of its members.

This military operation took place in the village of La Ampudia of the municipality of Jamundí in the department of Valle del Cauca, at the moment when the troops of the Infantry Battalion N°8 Batalla de Pichincha, thanks to intelligence work and the planning of the operation, initiated a combat against members of this structure, who planned to execute criminal operations against the inhabitants.

These individuals would integrate the criminal group of alias Pablo Villa, the main ringleader of the illegal structure and who directs the collection of money from extortions, terrorist operations and attacks against the Military Forces in this area of the department. In addition, this group would be in charge of transporting and trading narcotics from the interior of the department to the Pacific coast, establishing drug trafficking routes to different countries.

In the framework of this military operation, 3,715 cartridges of different calibers, nine rifles, 83 magazines, seven handguns, 12 rudimentary grenades, three hand grenades, 12 detonators, communication elements and a drone were found by troops. Both the arrested and these elements were put into custody of the authorities.

Through this result, the criminal intentions of the residual GAO Jaime Martínez in the department of Valle del Cauca continue to be decimated.

In addition, the criminal and financial operations of this armed group are significantly hit, dismantling their structures through operations with the support of artillery fire and the use of recently used platforms with great impact within the criminal organization.
