Operations against drug trafficking prevent the sale of 50 million dollars in alkaloids

The deployment of maritime and air units for the pursuit of illegal boats with alkaloids, led to the findings that together raise up to about two tons of alkaloids.

Nariño. In the last 48 hours, in the framework of the heavy operation that the National Navy maintains in the Colombian Pacific against the drug trafficking organizations, three important blows were given to the drug trafficking. 1,909 kilograms of alkaloids (cocaine and marijuana) were found and six drug traffickers were captured.

The timely articulation of the naval intelligence, led to know the departure of an illegal boat with alkaloids in the Naya river, which was detected and pursued by the helicopter of the ship ARC "20 de Julio" that made transit through the Colombian Pacific returning from the Operation in Antarctica. The interception took place seven nautical miles of the coast approximately.

The ship, manned by three Colombian drug traffickers, was transferred to the port of Buenaventura, where the judicial authorities carried out the Preliminary Test, giving positive results for 721 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. The individuals were put into custody of the authorities for their judicial process.

On the other hand, the naval intelligence oriented the Coast Guard units, so that they could intercept in Cabo Manglares, in the department of Nariño, a boat without a name or license plate. During the inspection of the ship, 21 large bags were found. Inside, compact rectangular packages, packed with characteristics similar to those used by drug trafficking organizations to transport drugs, were found.

Immediately, the boat and its three crew, Colombians, were taken to Tumaco - Nariño, where officials of the Technical Investigation Corps of the Attorney General of the Nation made the Preliminary Initial Test - PIPH to the substance contained inside. They found 786 kilograms of hydrochloride of cocaine.

The three individuals were put into custody of the authorities to carry out the respective judicial procedures for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacture and carrying of narcotics.

In the same way, in operations of search and control of the sea, in the Bajito Vaquería area of the municipality of Tumaco - Nariño, hidden bags were found by troops among the mangrove, which, when inspected; inside they found charcoal and compact rectangular packages.

Six sacks had charcoal and were given to the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Nariño; the other 11 bags contained 402 kilograms of marijuana, according to the Technical Investigation Corps, after the Preliminary Test.

The alkaloid would cost about 50 million dollars in the international illegal market. So far this year, they have managed to find about 14 tons of cocaine hydrochloride, thanks to the permanent controls of the Naval Force in the Colombian Pacific.
