Nine arrests were made by the authorities in that municipality of Santander, which is an impact on the reduction of the crime of drug marketing in the region.

Soldiers of the Battalion of Artillery Battalion No. 5 Capitan José Antonio Galán of the Fifth Brigade, of the Second Division, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office and the SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE), dismantle the Organized Crime Group – GDO, Los Pitufos, who perpetrated the commercialization of narcotics in that municipality.

Through intelligence work, the authorities found nine individuals who would be members of this GDO, accused of the crimes of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying drugs and association to commit aggravated crimes.

According to the investigations, those arrested, three of them of foreign nationality, would be responsible for the sale of narcotics in various sectors of the capital city, for several months, generating anxiety and insecurity in the community.

With operations like this, the National Army reaffirms its commitment to fight the factors of instability that become a source of insecurity for the inhabitants and degrade our youth, because this population group is the target of those criminal operations.
