During the procedure, there was an attempt of sedition by the people to the military units in the area.
Through this operation, the distribution of more than 168 thousand doses of narcotics was prevented.
As part of the operations against criminal organizations specialized in drug trafficking in the Department of Chocó, the Colombian Navy in coordination with the National Police seized a shipment of narcotics that would cost more than three million dollars. The illegal merchandise allegedly belongs to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, which commits crimes in this area of the country.
The operation was carried out in the Jurubirá sector, a rural area of the municipality of Nuquí, where the troops of Navy Infantry Battalion No.23 together with members of the Military Forces of the National Police, in order to make effective a search warrant to four buildings and, in three of them, achieve the finding of about 200 packages that, by their characteristics, resembled illicit substances.
It should be mentioned that, due to the disturbances of law and order and attempted sedition by the people against the military units, the raid was not carried out on one of the houses; these actions take place due to the continuous constraint by the criminal groups to the inhabitants of the sector.
Subsequently, the Navy Infantry troops transferred the items to the facilities of the Naval Institution in Bahía Solano (Chocó) where units of the Judicial Investigation Section – SIJÍN, conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test, which determined a positive result for 59 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 125 kilograms of marijuana.
By means of this finding, more than three million dollars were prevented from entering the finances of the drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the region, as well as the distribution of more than 168 thousand doses that would cause damages to public health.
