Through this operation, more than 50 million dollars were prevented from entering the illicit activities of drug trafficking organizations.
During a search, surveillance and control operation, carried out by the Colombian Navy, an illegal hideout was found in the municipality of Juradó, department of Chocó, with a ton of cocaine hydrochloride inside.
The operation was carried out thanks to intelligence information, which led the Navy Infantry troops to deploy to inspect the area, where they found inside a cave, 43 sacks of different shapes and sizes that, by their characteristics, resemble illicit substances. This structure, apparently, belonged to the Organized Armed Group – GAO Clan del Golfo.
Later, the Colombian navy men transferred the material to the facilities of Navy Infantry Battalion No. 23, in Bahía Solano, Chocó department, for the personnel of the Judicial Investigation Section - SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) to conduct the Approved Preliminary Identification Test - PIPH, determining that it was 1,278 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The illegal merchandise was put into custody of the Attorney General's Office, while the authorities carry out investigations to determine the origin of this shipment.
Through this operation, the Naval Institution prevented more than two million doses of narcotics from being marketed on the streets of the world, in the same way countering the entry of more than 50 million dollars in the finances of the drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific region.
The Colombian Navy reaffirms its commitment in the fight against illicit activities, permanently deploying its river units and human talent, to combat drug trafficking and other illegal activities, which disturb the security and tranquility of the inhabitants of the Pacific.
