The Colombian Aerospace Force, through the Caribbean Air Group, in coordination with the Corporation for the Sustainable Development of the Archipelago of San Andr茅s, Providencia and Santa Catalina, carried out an environmental activity with the planting of 70 palms in the Los Almendros sector, on the New Ball highway. This operation reaffirms the institutional commitment to the preservation of the environment and the care of the natural resources of the island territory.
The purpose of planting these plants is to contribute to environmental recovery, strengthen coastal protection and mitigate the effects of sea erosion, phenomena that constantly hits the region due to the incidence of winds and waves. In addition, the initiative seeks to contribute to the stability of the coastal ecosystem and increase the sustainability of the area in the face of climate challenges.
This joint work conducted by the Colombian Aerospace Force and CORALINA is in the same way projected as a landscape beautification strategy and the creation of healthier spaces for the community.
In this way, the Institution continues to strengthen its vocation of service, not only in the protection of the national airspace, but in the same way in the care of the environment and the generation of social responsibility operations that promote progress, conservation and comprehensive security of the Colombian Caribbean.
