As part of the celebration of Tree Day, the Casanare Air Group (GACAS) joined the Greening Casanare campaign with the firm purpose of restoring and preserving the ecosystems of the department. In this sense, it is planned to plant approximately 30,000 trees of native species such as Yopa, Caño fistol and Flor amarillo throughout this year.
For its part, the Colombian Air Force (FAC) carried out the planting of 400 seedlings in the municipality of Yopal, in a coordinated work with the Municipal Mayor's Office, the Casanare Governorate, the Army and the National Police. This operation represents an important step in the conservation of natural resources and in the fight against climate change, thanks to the joint effort of these institutions.
With the planting of 400 trees the Colombian Air Force promotes reforestation in Casanare, during the first quarter of the year, 490 forest fires razed more than 11,091 hectares of protected areas in 16 municipalities of Casanare due to the El niño phenomenon. That is why the Colombian Air Force joins the fight for the conservation of natural resources and the protection of the environment in the Colombian Orinoquia region.
With a constant commitment, the GACAS will continue to support these initiatives in order to counteract the devastating effects of climate change and promote the recovery of the hit ecosystems.
