As part of the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, National Army troops found and dismantled a potassium permanganate laboratory in the village of Ca帽o Bonito, municipality of El Retorno, Guaviare. This result represents a significant impact on the finances of the Organized Armed Group, Structure 44 Antonio Ricaurte, commanded by the ringleader alias Yimy Mart铆nez who commits crimes financed by drug trafficking in the region.
The operation was carried out by soldiers of the 24th Rainforest Infantry Battalion, General Luis Carlos Camacho Leyva, of the 22nd Rainforest Brigade, in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Police, whose intelligence operation led to the identification of this laboratory; through this military operation, this criminal organization lost about 1,233 million Colombian pesos.
During the operation, the structure used for the production of the chemicals was dismantled and 9,112 kilograms of potassium permanganate, 660 gallons of hypochlorite and 300 kilograms of potassium hydroxide were found by troops. The operation was carried out following strict protocols to reduce the environmental impact and thus preserve the natural resources of the department of Guaviare.
