Pregnant woman was transported in Colombian Air Force aircraft

A pregnant woman of indigenous origin was transported from Vichada to Apiay, Meta, by the crew of the Caravan C-208B aircraft in ambulance configuration, so that the mother could be transferred to a more complex center to receive comprehensive and specialized care in the capital city of the eastern plains.

During the flight, both the mother, who required urgent assistance due to high-risk pregnancy, and the fetus were constantly monitored by special teams of military health professionals. The woman in the same way received intravenous fluids and analgesia to keep her stable.

The emergency of the 34-year-old patient could not be assisted in the municipal medical center because it has limited personnel and work tools, so it was necessary to transfer her to a more complex hospital that has the specialists and tools to provide support to the 38-week pregnant woman and start her labor.

The effective coordination of the National Personnel Recovery Center with the crews of the Air Combat Command No.2 save the life of mother and daughter, managing to give the patient to the staff responsible for her transfer to the departmental hospital in Villavicencio, Meta.

In this way, the Colombian Air Force shows once more, that, regardless of the place, is always on alert and with their aircraft ready to protect the good physical condition of the people, no matter how far they are and thinking at all times to serve with love to our fellow citizens, acting in a timely manner to face emergencies of the most vulnerable communities throughout the national territory.
