“I want to start by making a great recognition to the military engineers corps that have been working in the reconstruction of [the island] Providencia”, said President Iván Duque during his visit to the Military Fort of Tolemaida, where he led a review of the National Strategic Plan on Security and Defense for 2021-2022.
The President also make a recognition to all men and women of the National Navy, the National Police and the Air Force involved in the reconstruction of the island of Providencia.
In the same way, he focused on the military training on humanitarian demining and highlighted that “40% of the municipalities suspected to have antipersonnel mines has been demined in our government, even before completing three years of the period, a task that we continue fulfilling with enthusiasm”.
President Iván Duque Márquez highlighted, this Sunday, the effort of the military engineers of the National Army at the humanitarian demining operation that they conduct throughout the national territory for the benefit of communities.
The head of State said: "I want to start by giving great recognition to the military engineers who have been present in the reconstruction of [the Island] Providencia”.
The President also make a recognition to all men and women of the National Navy, the National Police and the Air Force who are involved in the reconstruction of the island of Providencia.
In the same way, he stressed: “it was very comforting to see the resources that today are available to install bridges to face natural disasters. And something that is also very valuable, is the possibility to drill to have wells that provide water to rural communities in remote places”.
These operations, he added, have already being carried out in the municipality of El Salado, in El Carmen de Bolívar, in the department of Bolívar, to support the community.
