Honor y gloria a los soldados asesinados por el GAO Clan del Golfo en Antioquia

Honor and glory to the soldiers killed by the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo in Antioquia

 

The Fourth Brigade, unit a of the Seventh Division of Colombian National Army, informs:

1. In the early hours of the morning, in the framework of military operations to protect the inhabitants, soldiers of the Field Artillery Battalion No. 4, unit a of the Fourth Brigade, engaged a combat against members of the Luis Hernando Rozo Bertel Substructure, of the GAO Clan del Golfo, in the village of La Chorrera, in San Andrés de Cuerquía, in the department of Antioquia.

2. In this combat, unfortunately, the specialist soldiers Daniel de Jesús Velázquez Oviedo, born in the municipality of Planeta Rica, Córdoba, and César Aldinéber Ortiz Muñoz, born in the municipality of Colón, department of Nariño, were killed. 

Two more members of the Military Forces were injured in the same events, and they were evacuated of the area to receive specialized medical assistance.

3. Colombian National Army deeply regrets the death of the soldiers, who died in compliance with the constitutional mission, so we reiterate our deepest condolences to their family and relatives at this difficult time.

4. This Command conducts the respective processes to provide accompaniment to the families of both the murdered soldiers and the wounded military.

5. Colombian National Army rejects the criminal operations of this organized armed group that commits crimes in the department of Antioquia, and will continue to conduct military operations, in order to find those responsible and to contribute to the security of the entire territory.
