COMUNICADO DE PRENSA

The Command of the Twenty-Ninth Brigade, of the Third Division of Colombian National Army,  informs :

 

1. In the evening hours of April 18, 2025, Soldier Luis Carlos Galíndez Salamanca, who was on a period of leave, was vilely murdered. The incident was reported in the village of Albania, in the municipality of La Vega, department of Cauca. According to preliminary information provided by his relatives, the member of the Military Forces was having a meeting with partners in a public establishment when he was attacked by men who, in order to steal his motorcycle, took his life.

 

2. The Twenty-Ninth Brigade deeply regrets this irreparable loss and expresses its most sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of Soldier Luis Carlos Galíndez Salamanca, who in the coming days was supposed to report to the Light Cavalry Group No. 6, or the Fourth Division of Colombian National Army.

 

3. In coordination with the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, the corresponding investigations are being carried out to clarify the facts, identify and arrest those responsible and make them face the judicial authorities.

 

4. The institution categorically rejects this criminal act and sympathizes with the family's pain, accompanying them at this difficult time.

 

5. Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to the safety and well-being of its men and of all Colombians, and will continue to carry out operations to combat any criminal act that threatens the citizens.
