Comunicado de Prensa, héroes por siempre

Heroes forever 

 

The Fourth Brigade, unit of the Seventh Division of Colombian National Army, informs:

 

 

 

1.           In the evening hours of July 7, 2025, troops of the 32nd Pedro Justo Berrío Infantry Battalion, attached to the Fourth Brigade, who were in compliance with the constitutional mission in protection of the inhabitants, were the object of an attack by members of the Edwin Román Velásquez Valle substructure of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, commanded by Wilmar Albeiro Mejía Úsuga, alias Richard and Nelson Enrique Guzmán Ruiz, alias El Soldado, when the troops were marching in the village of La Esperanza, in the municipality of Cañasgordas, in the department of Antioquia.

 

 

 

2.           As a result of this criminal operation, specialist soldiers Wilmer Javier Hidalgo Torres and Wuilinton Arley Duarte Ramirez got injuries. They were immediately evacuated to the San Carlos hospital in the municipality of Cañasgordas, where they were given first aid, but due to the severity of their injuries, they unfortunately died.

 

 

 

3.           This Command expresses its deepest condolences to the relatives and partners of the deceased soldiers and permanently accompanies their families.

 

 

 

4.            These operations are a flagrant violation of human rights and violation of international humanitarian law, therefore, this Command will proceed to file denunciations with the authority.

 

 

 

5.            Colombian National Army will continue to carry out military operations aimed at contributing to the protection of the inhabitants and the stability of the Antioquia territory. As well as finding those responsible for this unfortunate action.
