COMUNICADO DE PRENSA

The Ninth Brigade, unit a of the Fifth Division of Colombian National Army, informs :

 

1. Troops of the Field Artillery Battalion N.° 9 Tenerife, who were carrying out stability tasks in the village of Chapinero, rural area of Neiva, Huila, engaged a combat against members of the so-called Central General Staff, Isaías Pardo Central Bloc, of the Ismael Ruiz Front, under the command of alias Libardo.

 

2. In this combat, Soldier Rubiel Antonio Mendoza Ureña, native to San José de Cúcuta, Department of Norte de Santander, who had eight years of service to the country, was killed.

 

3. The Command of the Ninth Brigade stands in solidarity with relatives and partners of the soldier, who gave his life in the line of duty with the security and defense of the country, raising prayers to the Almighty for his eternal rest.

 

4. Colombian National Army will continue to work for the safety, tranquility and well-being of the inhabitants of the Department of Huila.
