After 105 hours of permanent monitoring and efforts to secure the arrival of the delegation formed by the National Government and international organizations to the village Nueva York, rural area of the municipality of El Retorno, department of Guaviare, today night the Soldiers and navy men, who had been kidnapped by people used by alias Jimmy Parra or Jimmy Martinez, ringleader of the structure 44 of the GAO-r faction Ivan Mordisco, were rescued.
Thanks to a meticulous planning of the military operation, in which all the resources of Colombian National Army and the Colombian Aerospace Force activated, the troops were extracted from the area and later transferred to the facilities of the Twenty-Second Rainforest Brigade, in the municipality of San José del Guaviare.
Upon arrival at the military unit, the members of the Military Forces were received by an interdisciplinary team that carried out the corresponding assessments to verify their health status.
The Colombian Military Forces will continue to carry out operations throughout the national territory to fulfill the constitutional mission of defending the sovereignty, independence, security of the national territory and the constitutional order.
