The Command of the Quiron Task Force, a military unit of the Eighth Division of the National Army, reports:
1. This Monday, March 7, in the afternoon, while soldiers of the Ground Operations Battalion n. 30, of the Quirón Task Force, were carrying out search and control patrols were attacked by individuals who belonged to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN, who cowardly, from the houses, threw an explosive device against the military units in the municipality known as Florida Blanca, municipality of Tame, Arauca.
2. This cowardly terrorist operation left two soldiers with minor injuries as a result of the shrapnel, who immediately received first aid and were stabilized by military rescuers, and then taken where they are assisted in the San Vicente de Arauca hospital, where they recover satisfactorily.
3. This Command will file a corresponding denunciation with the authorities and emphatically rejects the use of illegal means and methods of warfare used by members of organized armed groups in the fields and on the roads with the sole objective of causing serious injuries, mutilation and even death to civilians and members of the Military Forces, thus directly attacking human rights and violating the provisions of international humanitarian law.
4. The National Army will strengthen military operations to find the whereabouts of those responsible for this cowardly attack, and thanks the people for providing information through national toll-free lines 147, so that these events do not happen again.
