Press release

The Command of the Second Division of the National Army, reports:

1. In recent hours and in events that are the subject of investigation, the military base of the 27th, of the Infantry Battalion No. 14 Capitan Antonio Ricaurte, was attacked on the road that leads to the municipality of Aguachica, in the department of Cesar

2. According to the first information, being approximately 1:17 a.m. this Thursday, January 27, four detonations were heard at the base, apparently by grenade attack. So far, two soldiers have been seriously injured, so they had to be sent to Aguachica Hospital.  18 more with light wounds are assisted within the same military unit by health personnel.

3. In simultaneous events, the Infantry Battalion N掳 15 General Francisco de Paula Santander, in Oca帽a, Norte de Santander, was in the same way attacked with explosives.

The cowardly operation left a soldier wounded and damages to the facilities of the unit.

4. Immediately and in an inter-institutional work, external security operations were activated to find those responsible.

Crimes are committed in these areas by organized armed groups ELN, GAO Clan del Golfo and the organized armed group residual structure 33.

5. The National Army rejects this indiscriminate attack with methods and means prohibited, which put at risk not only the good physical condition of the soldiers, but in the same way of families and civilians around the sector, becoming a clear violation of human rights and transgression of the provisions of international humanitarian law.

The denunciations will be immediately brought to the Office of the Attorney-General.

We remain attentive to the evolution of the health status of our troops.
