The Command of the Joint Task Force Titan, of the Seventh Division of the National Army, informs:
1.A military unit, in tactical tasks in the village of El Barro, of the municipality of San José del Palmar, (Chocó), was the victim of an attack with explosives in the morning hours of today.
The attacked troops sought to provide protection and tranquility to the inhabitants of this area of the department.
2. According to the first information, this terrorist action, which violates the international humanitarian law, would have been perpetrated by members of the Ernesto Che Guevara Front of the GAO ELN, whose main ringleader is alias Yerson.
3. As a result of this criminal operation, our Soldier Cañavera Causil Luis Enrique was killed and two other soldiers were injured. They will be evacuated to a health care center, once the weather conditions in the sector are favorable.
4. A group of Judicial Police will move to the place to carry out the urgent acts, criminal notices will be sent to the authorities.
5. This command sent the accompaniment of an interdisciplinary team for the family of our murdered soldier, while expressing a greeting of condolences and solidarity for them and their partners.
