Throughout the department of Tolima, in the urban area and rural area, men guarantee the blackout decreed by the departmental government.

Since last Friday, the troops of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, deployed throughout Tolima, have activated the protocols for the contingency plan in order to confront COVID-19 in Tolima. In accordance with the measures implemented by the Tolima Governorate and the Ibagué Mayor's Office, one of these, the blackout in the capital city of Tolima, and the activation of the Humanitarian Support Platoon of the Battalion of Supports and Services for Combat No.6 and the Reaction Platoon of Infantry Battalion No.18 Coronel Jaime Rooke, the troops contribute to the security, tranquility and mitigation of the pandemic.

In the center, north and east, the soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No.16 Patriotas and the Ground Operations Battalion No.17, together with the National Police and the municipal mayors, at the municipalities carry out a control and prevention checkpoint In order to restrict the entry of non-residents to these localities; in turn, permanent surveillance is carried out in the urban area and the rural area.

In southern Tolima, the Zeus Consolidation and Stabilization Operational Command and the 17th Infantry Battalion General Domingo Caicedo carry out checkpoints at the entrances of the municipalities. In the same way, they reach out marginalized and vulnerable areas so that the community takes into account the recommendations to prevent COVID-19. In turn, they arrive with food benefiting the vulnerable people.
