In 2022, there are already 16 arrested for links with structures of residual organized armed groups that commit crimes in the departments of Caquetá and Putumayo.
In joint, coordinated and inter-institutional military operations by the National Army, the Navy of Colombia, the Air Force, the Police and the Prosecutor's Office, the individual who would be known by the alias of Masato or Fierro, alleged member of the support network for the residual structures of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r Carolina Ramírez Structure.
This individual was requested by members of the Military Forces, who were carrying out river checkpoints on the Caquetá River, on the sector known as Bocas del río Sencella, in the municipality of Puerto Leguízamo, in the department of Putumayo. There this man was traveling in a small wooden boat, in which he was surprised carrying a shotgun-type firearm and 3,370 units of 7.62 mm ammunition.
Alias Masato, apparently, would be perpetrating logistical criminal actions for the benefit of the residual GAO Structure Carolina Ramírez and, in addition, according to military intelligence information, he would be responsible for promoting the trafficking of illicit substances, as well as supplies for the production of coca base paste belonging to this criminal organization, from which they derive the financing of their criminal actions.
Alias Masato was put into custody of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation and, subsequently, a judge sent him into the Prison El Cunduy, municipality of Florencia, Caquetá, for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying weapons, ammunition of restricted use of the Military Forces.
Military operations are intensified throughout the Colombian Amazon, in order to counter terrorist operations against civilians or members of the Military Forces.
