With more than 2,500 men, this unit consolidates as a strategic component to ensure a safe environment in this region of the country.
In the municipality of Santa Rosa, south of Bol铆var, the military activation ceremony of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 9 (FUDRA 9) was presided over by the Chief of Operations of Colombian National Army, Major General Royer G贸mez Herrera, accompanied by civil authorities and representatives of the National Police.
The new unit, whose command post is in Santa Rosa, will be the planning and executing center of military operations throughout the south of the department, becoming the main work of the First Division of Colombian National Army in this strategic area of the country.
Under the leadership of Colonel Yaen Hassan Serrano Chac贸n, FUDRA 9 is established as an essential pillar in the implementation of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, aimed at protecting the inhabitants, strengthening governance and neutralizing the resources of organized armed groups.
The unit will be made up of three Rapid Deployment Battalions (BADRA), characterized by their high mobility and immediate response capacity; a Direct operation and Reconnaissance Battalion (BADRE), specialized in operations of reconnaissance and neutralization of objectives of high strategic value; and a Combat Support and Services Battalion (BASPC), in charge of providing logistical support and military operation to the units on the ground.
These troops, trained and equipped with differential resources, will have the mission of directly combating criminal structures that threaten regional security.
Through this activation, Colombian National Army reaffirms its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the life, rights and tranquility of all Colombians.
