Within the framework of the permanent deployment of the Military Forces to counter crimes that attack personal freedom, the Colombian Navy and the National Army have released a man who had been held against his will in the Special District of Buenaventura – Valle del Cauca.

The 39-year-old man was at his house found in Locality 8, when six armed men traveling in a passenger collective transport vehicle and two motorcycles, took him out against his will, demanding the payment of 500 million pesos for his release. Once the authorities were notified, the Intervention Plan was executed in Buenaventura, where the Units of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Colombian Navy and the Urban Special Forces Battalion of the National Army activated the padlock plan in the City Port for the liberation of the citizen.

The rapid operation and pressure of the Military Forces in the neighborhoods and main communication roads, forced the criminals to release the detained person, in Locality 7 of this Special District.

It is presumed that this crime was committed by members of the Los Shottas Substructure, of the Organized Gang, GDO, La Local, who demanded the millionaire sum to finance their criminal activity.
