Troops found different longrifles, a large amount of ammunition and military accessories that individual were trying to hide in the rural area of the department of Risaralda.
As part of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, motorized and ground troops of the Field Artillery Battalion No. 8 San Mateo, together with the Risaralda Police, with their specialties of Sij铆n, Sipol and GOES, arrived in rural areas of two municipalities of Risaralda to conduct a simultaneous operation.
Thanks to the information collected by the intelligence work, four members of this criminal structure were arrested, who belong to the focused criminal component of the Edwin Rom谩n Vel谩squez Valle Substructure, who were seeking to establish in Risaralda territory.
In the village of Puente Umbria, in the municipality of Bel茅n de Umbria, it was possible to arrest alias Pachela and alias El Mono in the sector known as La Ladrillera, when they were traveling with large equipment for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, including two longrifles. In addition, the investigation indicates that these two people would be behind the latest homicides that occurred in the west of the department.
On the other hand, in the village of Tarqui, in the municipality of Guatica, the troops arrested alias Tat谩n and alias Menor, these men apparently would be intimidating the people of this rural area to take control of microtrafficking; a firearm was found in their possession, along with a large amount of ammunition and military accessories material.
This operation represents a heavy blow not only against the logistics of the organized armed group, but in the same way against the combat force, weakening the intentions of control in the most distant municipalities of the department.
It was possible to find 2 5.56 mm caliber galil rifles, a 38 mm caliber revolver, 10 magazines for 5.56 mm caliber rifle, 663 5.56 mm caliber cartridges, 6 38 mm caliber cartridges, multi-mission areas, campaign equipment, vests, boots, tents, tactical sweater and a bracelet alluding to the Clan del Golfo.
Both the material and the four detainees were put into custody of the authority to initiate the prosecution process, for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms for the exclusive use of the Military Forces.
