Within the framework of two coordinated operations conducted by the Colombian Navy and the National Police in the Special District of Buenaventura, five individuals were arrested, alleged members of the Organized Gang - GDO La Local; two minors of age were recovered.
In the first operation, troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 24 of the Colombian Navy and personnel of the Judicial Investigation Section - SIJÍN of the National Police, arrested five individuals in the 10th and 12th communes of the Special District, who would belong to the GDO La Local, Los Espartanos faction. Apparently, these men would be in charge of selective homicides, extortions and kidnappings in the region. During the operations the military personnel found a revolver, a pistol, 117 cartridges of different calibers and a magazine.
In the same way, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Colombian Navy and the National Police recovered two minors aged 16 and 17, who were put into custody of the authorities for the restoration of their rights.
The five individuals and the material found were put into custody of the Buenaventura 53rd Sectional Prosecutor's Office.
