In San Andres Island, Navy of Colombia seizes more than a ton of cocaine hydrochloride

En San Andrés Isla, Amada de Colombia incauta más de una tonelada de clorhidrato de cocaína

Thanks to the synergy of the military operation of the units of the Caribbean Naval Force, this seizure, valued at more than 77 million dollars was possible, preventing the circulation of more than four million doses of this narcotic.

The illicit element was hidden in the middle of hundreds of bricks.

In the framework of maritime control and security operations, the Colombian Navy, through the Specific Command of San Andrés and Providencia in coordination with the National Police, report the seizure of more than a ton of cocaine hydrochloride that were transported on board a fishing-type boat.

Immediately, a Rapid Reaction Unit of the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés Isla was sent to immediately find the ship and escort it to the port, in order to prevent any attempt to extract illegal elements.

Once at the dock, an interdisciplinary team carried out the review, in the middle of boxes full of bricks they found hidden 54 sacks containing a total of 1,633 packages; subsequently, the item was taken to the Coast Guard Station, where personnel of the Criminal Investigation Section -SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE), conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test, leaving positive result for 1,667.5 kilograms of Cocaine Hydrochloride.
