These military operations are carried out in order to protect the 1,016,000 inhabitants of the department.
Within the framework of the Plan of the Ayacucho, soldiers of the Tenth Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the National Police, carry out a successful operation against drug trafficking. They reported in the last few hours the seizure of more than 2.7 tons of marijuana valued at COP $1,085,000,000, in the village El Tablazo, of the municipality of San Juan del Cesar, Department of La Guajira.
Thanks to the work carried out by the military intelligence and the National Police, with a search warrant, it was possible to find and arrest four individuals who had marijuana in their house and who would be prosecuted for the crimes of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotics, and carrying, trafficking and manufacturing firearms, since they were carrying 2 shotguns without the respective safe conducts.
The arrested and the war elements found, were put into custody of the authorities for the start of the judicial proceedings.
Colombian National Army will continue its operation to confront the factors of instability in the department, with special emphasis on the fight against illicit drugs that finance the terrorist activities of organized armed groups. This action demonstrates the commitment of the Tenth Brigade in the fight against drug trafficking.
