As a priority activity for the Government of Bolívar, the first Security Council was held in the south of the department.

All the military and civilian authorities arrived at the facilities of the Joint Task Force Marte, to address the different problems that harm the security of eight municipalities in the south of Bolívar.

This work table was led by the governor, Vicente Blel Scaff, who reviewed point by point the needs of local leaders with an active participation of the representatives of the Security forces in the formulation of proposals and strategies for their solution.

Thus, the First Army Division, the Caribbean Naval Force, the Air Combat Command No. 3 and the Magdalena Medio Police Department analyzed the issues associated with instability factors, such as illegal mining, drug trafficking, microtrafficking, organized crime and extortion, for which strategies were raised to address them, improving security tending to gain social development hand in hand with the commitments made by the Government.
