School desks were distributed to indigenous communities in the Department of La Guajira

Pupitres escolares fueron entregados a comunidades indígenas en La Guajira

In a joint and coordinated work with the Colombian Air Force, Colombian National Army, the National Police, the Government of the Department of La Guajira and Allied Foundations, more than 80 school desks, as well as teaching and laboratory materials were distributed to five schools of indigenous communities in the municipalities of Uribia and Maicao, in the department of La Guajira.

This initiative will benefit more than a thousand students, improving their educational experience and promoting their comprehensive development. In addition, it contributes to reducing the risk of forced recruitment of children and young people by illegal armed groups operating in the region.

In this way, the Military Forces seek to provide an ideal environment that leads students to generate skills and knowledge necessary to carry out activities in their daily lives, and, in addition, give tools to enter higher education with the best preparation.

Thus, the Colombian Air Force and Colombian National Army will continue to work in coordination with various public and private institutions of the department, with the aim of strengthening the security and stability of the inhabitants in this area of the country.
