In a joint and coordinated operation, conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Army and the National Police, 802 gallons of contraband fuel were found in the Cienaga de las Piedras sector, in the department of Magdalena.

Thanks to valuable information from Naval Intelligence, personnel of the Santa Marta Coast Guard Station and the National Army, after inspecting and securing the swampy area, found the contraband fuel within the vegetation.

This fuel, which would be used for the production of the coca base, was transported to the facilities of the Santa Marta Coast Guard Station, where the administrative procedures were carried out, before being put into custody of the Tax and Customs Police.

In compliance with the San Roque  operation, the Colombian Navy will continue to carry out joint, coordinated and inter-agency operations that will hit the illegal organizations of drug trafficking that commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean, thus contributing to the security of the region. It also invites people to report suspicious situations or events that put the good physical condition of citizens at risk in the free of charge line 147.
