cogfm-arc-logo.gif

The anti-kidnapping operation carried out by the Colombian Navy, the National Army and the National Police has completed 48 hours.

Four people were kidnapped while traveling in a boat on the Napi River, in the municipality of Guap, in the department of Cauca, between the municipalities of Calle Larga and San Agustín. The criminal would have been committed by the Organized Armed Group ELN.

When the criminal act was known, the Security forces in a joint and coordinated way activated all the technical, logistics and human resources of search and tracking to find two contractors of a private company, a guide of the area and a boatman, who were repairing a section of the fiber optic in this sector of Guapi.

The search groups were activated through the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Tumaco, the Police Gaula of Cauca, and troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.42, who upon knowing on the kidnapping went to the area to begin the search. In the same way, work is being carried out jointly, with the Civic Participation Network and especially with the Mayor of Guapi and the President of the Community Council.

The Security forces are carrying out the investigations and in the same way military operations, in order to determine the whereabouts of the missing persons and who would be responsible for this situation. It is important to say that while sparing no effort to find the whereabouts of these citizens, joint and coordinated operations continue to be carried out to counteract the criminal operations of the different Organized Armed Groups.
