Semi-submarine with two tons of cocaine was found by the Colombian navy

The distribution of about six million doses of the drug was prevented.

As part of an operation against the transnational crime of drug trafficking, the Colombian Navy seized two tons of cocaine hydrochloride that were being transported in a semi-submarine through the waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Units of the Pacific Naval Force intercepted the illegal naval device while it was sailing in Colombian waters. The semi-submarine was manned by three men carrying 75 sacks with 2,240 rectangular packages with characteristics similar to cocaine hydrochloride.

At the facilities of the Colombian Navy in Buenaventura, the Technical Research Staff -CTI- carried out the Approved Preliminary Identification Test, which left positive result for 2,313 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

With this finding, the Colombian Navy prevents about six million doses of cocaine from being marketed and distributed worldwide, damaging the finances of drug trafficking groups that will not receive more than US $77 million.

Those arrested were put into custody of the authorities for prosecution for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacturing and/or carrying narcotics. The material found was put into custody of the CTI of the Attorney General's Office.
