The ship ARC "Gloria" starts its participation in the international event "Velas Latiomaérica 2018"

Bolivar. Colombia's ambassador to the world's seas, the ship ARC "Gloria" began its participation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the "Velas Latinoamérica 2018" Regatta, which is an event organized by the Chilean Navy that includes an itinerary by 18 ports in Latin America, beginning next March 25 and ending September 2, with the participation of School Ships of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Russia, Uruguay, Venezuela and Mexico.

With 155 crew members including officers, non-commissioned officers, marines and cadets, the ship ARC "Gloria" began its participation with an impressive naval parade in front of the beaches of Ipanema, Leblón and Copacabana, showing the discipline and training of the men and Women of the National Navy. This is the fourth time that our flagship waves the Colombian flag in an international racing event.

For its part, Cartagena will receive the visit of these sailboats in the Sail from July 21 to 26, days in which locals and foreigners will have the opportunity to know these boats and make an exciting cultural exchange with the sailors who will visit the “stone corralito”.

This naval event takes place every four years, with the participation of large sailing ships, under the name of "Velas Latinoamérica", in order to strengthen the bonds of partnership of different Navies and the population of the countries and ports visited during the event.
