Within the framework of territorial control operations and acts coordinated with the judicial authorities, the Caribbean Naval Force, through the Sucre Military GAULA (ANTI-EXTORTION AND ANTI-KIDNAPPING GROUP) of the Navy Infantry Brigade No. 1, in a coordinated effort with the Attorney General's Office, CTI-GAULA (ANTI-EXTORTION AND ANTI-KIDNAPPING GROUP) SUCRE, report the arrest of an alleged member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo in the department of Sucre, hitting the criminal resources of this criminal organization.
The operation was carried out through a search procedure in the San Luis neighborhood of the municipality of Sincelejo, where an alleged member of the GAO Clan del Golfo known as Topo was arrested, accused of the alleged crime of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms or ammunition.
During the procedure, more than 1,459 grams of cocaine and its derivatives were seized, a .32 caliber revolver, a magazine for a 9 mm caliber pistol, a magazine for a 5.56 mm caliber rifle, 50 5.56 caliber cartridges, 14 9 mm caliber cartridges and 120 cigarette packs with badges alluding to the Clan del Golfo, elements that were put into custody of the authorities along with the arrested man.
This result represents a blow to the criminal structures that commit crimes in the department of Sucre, contributing to reducing their logistical and financial capacity, as well as strengthening the security and tranquility conditions of the inhabitants.
