Six laboratories for the production of coca base paste dismantled

Desmantelados seis laboratorios para el procesamiento de pasta base de coca

The Colombian Navy, in the framework of joint operations with Colombian National Army, managed to find and dismantle six laboratories, used for the production of coca paste base, which apparently belong to the Pablo José Montalvo Cuitiva substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, which commits crimes in this area of the country.

The operations took place in the Manuel Santos Village sector, municipality of Carmen del Darién, department of Chocó, where six structures were found by troops in which coca paste base production areas operated. Inside, 1,020 gallons of gasoline, 195 gallons of DIESEL, 100 kilograms of cement, and 150 kilograms of coca leaf were found by troops, which would have cost more than 116 million pesos.

With this result, the logistics chain of this organization at the service of drug trafficking is hit. The laboratories and the supplies were destroyed in controlled conditions according to the established protocols.

The Colombian Navy is constant in its operation against drug trafficking; it carries out operations in a sustained way in order to counteract this problem that generates violence and its related crimes, contributing to the security and totality of the territory of Colombians. In the same way, it invites citizens to report any suspicious activity or situation to the authorities.
