Soldiers arrive in the department of Guaviare to strengthen security

Militares llegan al Guaviare para reforzar la seguridad

More than 100 soldiers were sent to the department of Guaviare in order to neutralize the criminal operations of organized armed groups.

Within the framework of the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan Ayacucho Plus, Colombian National Army sent troops of the N.1 Direct operation and Reconnaissance Battalion to carry out stability tasks in the department of Guaviare, to provide security to the inhabitants, boost territorial control, neutralize drug trafficking chains and work for the well-being of the communities.

These soldiers with differential resources will be distributed in strategic areas of this department.

After the extraordinary security council held in San José del Guaviare, on January 20th of this year, where public and civilian authorities participated, the Omega Task Force, with the support of the Colombian Aerospace Force, has carried out loudspeaker activities and launched air brochures, inviting members of organized armed groups to demobilize through line 107 against terrorism in the municipality of Calamar, Guaviare.
