Soldiers of the Fifth Brigade neutralized 13 explosive devices

Three grenades and 10 devices were neutralized by EXDE groups.

Santander. During military area control operations carried out by men of the Fifth Brigade, of the Second Division, they found explosive devices in southern Bolivar, Santander and southern Cesar.

In the first operation, soldiers of the "Nueva Granada" Battalion in the Colinas sector, in the municipality of San Pablo (Bolívar), found a hand grenade, unexploded used ammunition, which had been abandoned by outlaw armed groups that commit crimes in the region.

In other events, troops of the Ricaurte Battalion found in the village La Cascabela, in the municipality of Aguachica (Cesar), two 60-millimeter grenades that were in the same way detonated under controlled conditions by the EXDE group of this unit.

Finally, in the village El Balcón, in the municipality of San Andrés (Santander), soldiers of the Galán Battalion, found 10 improvised explosive devices, identified as objects of cylindrical shape, made of PVC tube approximately 3 inches in diameter, 10 to 15 centimeters length, apparently with an electric activation system, with approximately 10 centimeters of security fuse that protruded from each object that weighing approximately 500 grams each. These devices apparently belonged to armed groups that had committed crimes in that region a few years ago.
