In 2025, soldiers have found and destroyed 115 explosive devices in the area of responsibility of the Fourth Brigade.
Soldiers of the Ground Artillery Battalion No. 4, of the Fourth Brigade, who are guarding the rural part of the municipality of Briceño, department of Antioquia, arrived at the village of La Vélez, where it was possible to visualize a flag and a fence alluding to the Magdalena Medio Bloc, of the residual GAO, Structure 36.
Immediately, the sector was checked with the explosives expert personnel to verify that there were no devices on the elements. Once verified, they were uninstalled and destroyed.
In the same way, hours later, another unit that is guarding the rural area of the municipality of Briceño arrived at the sector known as la Ye de La Virgen, and when conducting the review of the place, which is very useful to the inhabitants, thanks to the expertise of the trained anti-explosive dog, detected an explosive device on the roadside.
Immediately, the security protocols were activated and the controlled destruction was carried out by the Explosives and Demolitions Group (EXDE) of that military unit, which works to ensure the free mobility of people and transporters passing through this sector.
