In this department of the south of the country, more than 30 members of the National Army Military Forces, trained and prepared in disaster prevention and care, remain on high alert, after the declaration of IDEAM at the national level about the La Niña weather phenomenon.

The department of Caquetá has already a group of soldiers, equipped, trained and prepared in the prevention, mitigation and care of natural disasters. Members of the Military Forces who have been instructed to provide support to face landslides, floods, forest fires, search and rescue in collapsed structures, among others, remain quartered, along with specialized equipment and machinery in Florencia.

This platoon anti-disasters, is trained to provide support in any emergency and travel quickly and conveniently to any point of the department of Caqueta, even outside the department if an emergency requires it, which makes it a strategic tool for the mitigation of the risk in the south of the country.

Along with the team there is the support of machinery and special technical equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, car tanks, and elements that will serve to provide support in emergency situations and to support the monitoring and prevention of any situation that may put at risk the lives of civilians or their property.

These soldiers of the National Army were trained and prepared with the support of relief agencies and government institutions. They will have the valuable support of canine binomials that will support eventual search and rescue efforts.
