With this work, more than 50 hectares have been recovered in the department, mitigating the serious environmental damage caused by indiscriminate logging.

Troops of the National Army, fulfilling the strategic line: Water, biodiversity and environment of the Presidency of the Republic and in the frame of the assistance to the preservation of ecosystems, have planted more than 4,000 trees in different municipalities, supported by the Corporaci贸n Aut贸noma Regional del Valle del Cauca, municipal authorities, Civil Defence, Firemen, and public and private institutions,.

The trees planted in these territories are cultivated in nurseries that the National Army has arranged in its military units to later conduct the reforestation. To date, more than 50 hectares have been recovered in several areas of the department.

With these activities, the soldiers of the National Army reaffirm their commitment to the custody of the environment, adding day by day efforts to continue contributing to the protection and care of natural resources in Valle del Cauca.
