The disaster response platoons of the Fifth Brigade work hard to support the Risk Management authorities, in favor of the communities damaged by the wave of rains.
Soldiers of the National Army in the department of Santander, in support of the departmental Risk Management Directorate, have been carrying out various operations in the communities and areas that have been damaged by the heavy rains of recent days in this region of the country.
In the town Vanegas and the town El Conchal, in the municipality of Sabana de Torres, soldiers are assisting 22 families in the transfer of belongings and evacuation in risk sectors.
The coordinated work with the Civil Defense and other authorities belonging to the disaster care and prevention system has led to act in a timely manner and prevent major tragedies.
With a quick and efficient response capacity, the soldiers in this region of the country demonstrate not only their commitment to security but in the same way their training and availability to support people in any situation.
