Solidarity and commitment to the inhabitants of Haiti; the Air Force transports humanitarian aid

As a support in the emergency in Haiti, after the earthquake 7.2 that caused damage to infrastructure, and hundreds of people died, the National Government sent the support of the Colombian Air Force deploying two aircraft, multipurpose, a Casa C-295 and C-130 Hercules, with the purpose of transporting humanitarian aid and Search and Rescue personnel of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management to the Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince.

The aircraft, which left the military ramp of the Military Transport Air Command - CATAM, departed with 16 tons of humanitarian aid consisting of field rations, drinking water, food and toilet kits, sheets, tents and other items that will be distributed to the inhabitants of the island.

The Colombian Air Force will be transporting more humanitarian aid in the coming days; in addition, the Casa C-295 aircraft will carry out an airlift within Haitian territory, carrying out transport missions within the Keys, which were severely hit after the earthquake.

Once again the Colombian Air Force uses all its Resources in order to help those who need it most, this time the Haitian people, demonstrating the commitment acquired not only with Colombians but anywhere in the world that is required.
