In compliance with a judicial order, a military operation was carried out that resulted in the arrest of two individuals allegedly linked to the Jaime Mart铆nez Structure, a terrorist group specialized in the monthly shipment of cocaine hydrochloride to countries in South and North America.
Within the framework of the military operations against drug trafficking, troops of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Directorate of the National Police and the Prosecutor's Office, reported the arrest of two alleged members of a transnational criminal network at the service of the residual organized armed group, Jaime Mart铆nez structure, one of the main factions under the leadership of the terrorist Ivan Mordisco.
The operation, carried out in the Alfonso L贸pez neighborhood of the city of Cali, Valle del Cauca, led to the arrest of Carlos Mauricio Arboleda Velasco, alias Gazella, and Wallinton Cundum铆 Ardila, alias Wallis, who would be the visible ringleaders of this criminal network. It is estimated that the organization coordinated the systematic departure of cocaine hydrochloride shipments of approximately one ton per month.
According to intelligence information, this organization operated in close collaboration with members of the Jaime Mart铆nez Structure in the departments of Cauca and Valle del Cauca, this operation deals significant economic blows both nationally and internationally, with losses estimated at 5200 million pesos in the domestic market and about 33 million dollars abroad.
Those arrested would be under the direction of alias Jairo, alleged head of finance of the illegal armed structure, and would be responsible for the collection, preparation and transfer of illicit shipments from Cali to other countries of the continent.
The detainees were put into custody of the authorities for their respective judicial process.
