The General Rafael Reyes Prieto Superior War College opened the II International Congress on Security and Defense, an academic and strategic environment that brings together representatives from 29 countries, experts, academics, governors, businessmen and leaders from different sectors to analyze the main challenges facing security and defense at the national and international levels.
During the first activity, the Congress was consolidated as a space for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices, aimed at strengthening strategic resilience, international cooperation and the construction of solutions to persistent and emerging threats that affect the stability and development of nations.
The first panel focused on territorial governance, public policies and national and regional security strategies, highlighting the role of territorial administrations in formulating comprehensive policies that contribute to the construction of safer, more resilient and sustainable environments.
Subsequently, the experts analyzed the effects of security on the productive sector, addressing the challenges faced by entrepreneurs, investors and project managers to promote economic development in contexts marked by risks and threats of various nature. During this space, the importance of strengthening coordination conducted by the State, private enterprises and academia to promote competitive and safe territories was addressed.
The activity concluded with a panel specialized in the extraction of mining deposits and strategic resources, in which national and international specialists discussed the vulnerability of mining operations, environmental sustainability and the protection of strategic resources, fundamental for economic growth, stability and development of the country.
