In order to strengthen the comprehensive risk management against vegetation cover fires, the Air Combat Command No. 6 of the Colombian Aerospace Force, actively participated in the first transportation of tactical groups of forest firefighters carried out in Florencia, department of Caquetá. In this space of national preparation, 20 tactical groups from different regions of the country set up their abilities to carry out coordinated trainings, practices and exercises.
During the activity, the CACOM 6 presented the resources of the Bambi Bucket system of the Huey II aircraft, highlighting its importance in the aerial control of forest fires, in the same way, the crews conducted demonstrative maneuvers, executing water drops on simulated fires in the camps, leading the participants to know firsthand the support provided by the Colombian Aerospace Force in real emergency environments.
This coordination conducted by land and air resources strengthened joint procedures, improved interoperability and consolidated national preparedness to respond in a timely manner to fires that threaten the ecosystems of southeastern Colombia.
The Colombian Aerospace Force continues to work for the protection of the environment and the safety of communities, using its distinctive resources and human talent to support risk management agencies throughout the national territory.
