They were going to be installed in Nari帽o: Military forces neutralize illegal hiding place containing explosives

Los iban a instalar en Nari帽o: Fuerzas Militares neutralizan dep贸sito ilegal con explosivos

The devices were being prepared to be transported by the Mira River to other villages, to carry out terrorist attacks against the palm and Cacao trees farmers of the region and against the Military Forces in the area.

In the military operation framed in the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan 鈥揟iempo 2- carried out by units of the Hercules Joint Task Force, an illegal hideout of explosives was found with 100 anti-personnel mines that were ready to be planted. The finding was made in the Tangareal village, a rural area of the municipality of Tumaco, Nari帽o.

The first reports indicate that the place where the explosives would be planted, was in the middle of the undergrowth on the banks of the Mira River, with the aim of attacking the lives of the inhabitants and the Military Forces.

The troops thanks to a thorough search over the thick vegetation, found the illegal hiding place where the criminals hid the explosive devices. According to the initial information, the intention of the criminals would be to increase their criminal and terrorist intentions, with the sole purpose of recovering the drug trafficking routes and positioning themselves illegally in the territory with terrorist operations. There the explosives were found by troops in the middle of the ground and hidden by vegetation, so that they would not be detected by the inhabitants specialized in palm petroleum extraction, Cacao cultivation and the troops.

As it could be established, these dangerous elements would belong to the organized armed group Ur铆as Rond贸n structure of the dissidents whose ringleader is Michael Ticus alias El Indio or Maji帽o, who commits crimes in this region of the southwest of the country.

This year there are already about 671 explosive devices that the Military Forces have destroyed in a controlled conditions on the Pacific coast of Nari帽o, safeguarding the good physical condition of the different productive groups, peasants, social and communal sectors, among others, who carry out agricultural and fishing work on rural areas.

After the finding, the illegal hiding place of explosives were destroyed in controlled conditions by anti-explosive technicians of the Military Forces, in accordance with the stipulated security protocols and maintaining the necessary techniques and tactics to work for raising security in the area.
