With the firm intention of improving the quality of life of the beneficiaries of the Health System of the Military Forces, the Naval Hospital of Cartagena carried out a surgery activity for cancer patients.
This important operation was possible thanks to a cooperation agreement of the Cartagena Naval Hospital and Dr. William Nolberto S谩nchez Maldonado, Surgeon Oncologist and Executive Director of the Colombian Association of Surgery, who selflessly donated his time to carry out this activity where a series of surgical interventions were conducted to help 20 patients, on December 14 and 15, 2018.
This is the third activity of this type that takes place at the Naval Hospital of Cartagena, contributing decisively to improving the quality of life of patients suffering from this type of disease. In the same way, it is important to highlight the management operation for the excellent development of this activity conducted by the doctors captain of frigate Andr茅s Zapata (surgeon), corvette captain Irina Gonz谩lez (anesthesiologist), corvette captain Juan Pablo Ortiz (anesthesiologist)) and the coordinator of all this brigade Lieutenant William Castro, head of the surgery service of the Naval Hospital.
