The soldiers are still on the search for the individuals who would have tried to commit this attack that directly hits the soldiers and the surrounding civilians.

Soldiers of the National Army carried out the neutralization of a terrorist operation against the Military Base on the 27th, on the Ruta del Sol road, in the village of El Juncal, in the municipality of Aguachica, Cesar.

In the midst of the security work in the sector, the soldiers noticed the suspicious presence of a truck that was being parked by two individuals on the road. These men, realizing the work of the troops, escaped.

Once the soldiers secured the sector, the inspection of the vehicle began, finding in its body, six 25-kilo gas cylinders loaded with explosive apparently type R1, 8 launching means and 12 detonators, for completing approximately 180 kilos of explosive.

At that time, our experts in explosives and demolitions, with the support of the anti-explosive CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), conducted the controlled destruction of the charges, to prevent damages absent the civilians and the Military Forces.

With this timely reaction, not only a loss was prevented, but in the same way the possibility of hitting those who transit through this sector was prevented, because this road is part of the Ruta del Sol, sector 2, which connects directly the center of the country with the north Colombian coast.

In the area of the events, the National Army arranged a special security operation to work for the defense and well-being of its inhabitants.
