Units of the Colombian Navy that were carrying out patrols and maritime control, rescued three adults and a minor who fell of a boat near the Haynes Cay sector, in San Andr茅s Islands.
The operation began after receiving a call for help from the community, about the sighting of a panga-type boat that was adrift without its crew, who apparently fell into the water due to the strong waves and difficult climate conditions of the area.
Immediately, the search procedure was activated by deploying a Rapid Reaction Unit of the San Andr茅s Coast Guard Station to the scene of the events, achieving the timely rescue of the crew at sea and subsequently being transported aboard the Naval Unit to the Cotton Cay pier facilities in good health.
During the year 2021, the Navy of Colombia through the Units of the Specific Command of San Andres and Providencia, rescued 70 people in the waters of the department Archipelago and in this way will continue with maritime patrols to safeguard human life at sea, using all its Resources to provide support in any emergency that may put at risk the good physical condition of the human life.
