Within the framework of a joint and coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, Colombian National Army and the National Police, in compliance with the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan Ayacucho, two alleged members of the Residual Organized Armed Group E 30 Rafael Aguilera were arrested in the municipality of Guapi, department of Cauca.
Troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.42 of the Colombian Navy, of the Infantry Battalion No.56 and National Police personnel, arrested alias Mono and alias Machete, during a checkpoint held in the urban area of Guapi. These two individuals, alleged members of the Residual Organized Armed Group E30 Rafael Aguilera for two years, had an arrest warrant for the crime of aggravated homicide.
The two individuals are allegedly responsible for the collection of money from extortion against merchants, to whom they imposed the money they had to pay, after inspecting the merchandise that arrived in Guapi from Buenaventura - department of Valle de Cauca and from Tumaco - Nariño.
In the same way, in a raid on a house, a woman of foreign nationality was arrested, who had in her possession a pistol, two magazines, 30 cartridges and a VHF radio; she is accused of keeping accounts of the money collected as a result of extortion of the merchants of the municipality.
Those arrested were put into custody of the authorities for their prosecution, in which they were ordered to stay in prison.
The Colombian Navy will continue to carry out joint and coordinated operations that will dismantle the criminal groups of the Colombian Pacific, which intend to disturb the tranquility of the inhabitants of this region of the country.
