This year, the troops of Brigade 30 have dismantled 29 laboratories used for the production of cocaine hydrochloride.
As part of Operation Catatumbo, National Army troops, in coordination with the National Police, found a laboratory used by criminals for the production of cocaine hydrochloride in the village of La Mutis, Los Patios municipality, Norte de Santander Department, with a capacity to produce about 1.5 tons of cocaine per month.
In the operation, troops of the Mechanized Cavalry Group N.° 5, with the Directorate of Anti-Narcotics, struck the illicit activities of the Northeastern War Front, by finding and dismantling a laboratory made of three rudimentary structures where 515 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride, more than 200 gallons of cocaine in suspension and 73 gallons of cocaine base in suspension were found by troops, as well as solid, liquid precursors, equipment, machines and elements that would be used in the production of hallucinogenic substances.
With the finding of this illegal construction, the finances of the GAO ELN are hit by approximately 6.2 million dollars, preventing the trafficking and distribution of 1.3 million doses.
The operations against the drug trafficking chain are constantly neutralizing the actions of the armed groups, specialized in the production and marketing of cocaine hydrochloride in the Department of Norte de Santander, as well as solid, liquid precursors, equipment, machines and elements that would be used in the production of hallucinogenic substances.
With the finding of this illegal construction, the finances of the GAO ELN are hit by approximately 6.2 million dollars, preventing the trafficking and distribution of 1.3 million doses.
